Renée Moernaut

Renée Moernaut was formerly employed as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Linguistics and Literary Studies of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and is currently still an affiliated member of BIJU. She received her PhD in Applied Linguistics (Journalism Studies) and Communication Studies from the VUB and the University of Antwerp. Her dissertation was titled ‘Organism or Machine? Climate Change Frames and Frame-Building in Mainstream and Alternative Media in Flanders’. Her main research interests include visual and multimodal framing, environmental and climate-change communication and journalism practice (especially the mainstream– alternative-media divide).
